CODING SUMMER CAMP - BUILD A BETTER ROBOT (AGES 8-10) 2025 - HALF SHIFT AM (8:30AM - 1:00PM)

Hello Spark Volunteers! Join us for our 2025 Coding Camp Programs this year to ignite curiosity and innovation in our campers!! You’ll get the opportunity to exercise your problem-solving, adaptability, and leadership skills, work with coding technologies, and support and guide campers as they navigate the ups and downs of technology! If you are interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math), giving back to youth, or are looking to develop valuable skills for your professional and personal endeavours, this is the opportunity for you!!

This is a week long camp that runs bi-weekly through out the summer (June 30 - July 4, July 14 - July 18, July 28 - August 1, August 11 - 15, August 25 -29). We would prefer volunteers to be able to do at least 1-2 half or full day shifts a week consistently!

As a volunteer in this role, you will:

  • Assist with classroom management, preparations, and support program delivery with campers aged 8-12
  • Get the opportunity to read stories and lead group games with campers during breaks or transition times
  • Help with overall supervision of campers throughout the day as needed
  • Get the opportunity to help campers with their hands-on science experiments and activities.
    • This might include the use of real tools with children however, on-the-job training will be provided, and a level of comfort achieved before being asked to support in tasks like this to maintain the safety of everyone
  • Gain experience on how to support and work within a fast-paced and engaging team environment.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...Make friends and amazing memories!!

Keep in mind: Some of the day will be spent outside in a variety of weather conditions. Dressing for the weather and level of activity is required. Close-toed, supportive, and comfortable shoes are mandatory.

You can read more about the summer camp programs and dates here.
