Debris and Vegetative Maintenance
The Debris & Vegetative Maintenance Volunteer plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests arriving at TELUS Spark. Working primarily outdoors, this volunteer supports the Guest Services, Custodial, and Operations teams by removing litter and natural debris from the Science Centre's entrance, walkways, and surrounding exterior spaces.

The ability to be approachable is an asset, as guests will ask questions of them; directing guests to the Front of House team for further assistance.
The duties requested of the volunteer accepting this position are as follows:
- Working primarily outside
- Assisting our Guest Services, Custodial, and Operations department with the removal of debris located along the entrance and walkway of the Science Centre
- Periodically assisting with debris collection and removal from the main entrance and lobby of the Science Centre during high traffic days or if time permits.
Health & Safety:
The volunteer taking on this role will need to be prepared for the possibility of slips, trips, and falls while assisting with the maintenance of the debris located around the main entrance. As this role is primarily on the exterior of TELUS Spark, the following personal protective equipment is recommended for your safety:
- Sturdy and comfortable shoes for uneven surfaces
- Sun care items (Hat, Sunscreen, Bug repellent, Long Sleeves, etc.)
- Weather preparedness essentials
- Gloves in the case debris is collected by hand
- Personal beverage container to remain hydrated
